# Leeds United: Ezgjan Alioski set for new contract

**Leeds United are preparing a new contract offer for utility player [Ezgjan Alioski](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/championship/leeds-united/leeds-fans-funny-ezgjan-aloski-breaks-camera-training/), according to Football Insider.**

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been excellent this season so far, moving up to third in the Premier League last night after their 3-0 thrashing of previously unbeaten Aston Villa, in which Alioski started at left-back ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/a-villa-vs-leeds/428888)).

### Ezgjan Alioski set for new contract

The 28-year-old North Macedonia international is now into the [final year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/129604) of his current deal at Elland Road. He has featured [138 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/129604) for the Whites during his time at the club, playing in a variety of positions.

[Last night’s hat-trick hero](https://www.skysports.com/football/a-villa-vs-leeds/428888) Patrick Bamford is a huge fan of his team-mate, who he has [described](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/patrick-bamford-leeds-lutv-commentary-17490772) as “a nightmare to play against”.

Regarded by some as a [cult hero](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-in-line-for-alioski-new-deal-talks/) at Leeds, Alioski is now set to be offered a new contract by the Yorkshire club. [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-in-line-for-alioski-new-deal-talks/) have broken the news of Leeds’ plans to push for a new deal, saying that the natural winger is very much a key member of Bielsa’s squad.

### **The correct decision to offer Alioski a new deal?**

Despite only making his second start of the season on Friday night against Villa, Alioski has featured in the majority of Leeds’ games this term, as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdaten/spieler/129604).

[A massive part of Bielsa’s side](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ezgjan-alioski/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/129604) over the last few seasons, it should come as no shock to fans of the club that a new deal is on the cards. Given his versatility, Alioski is the type of player that any club in England’s top flight would likely appreciate.
