# Manchester United: Fans beg club to move for Diego Simeone as their next manager

**Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjær claiming another big scalp by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, last night’s events in the Champions League saw plenty of Manchester United fans urging the club to make a move for Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone.**

Indeed, the Atleti boss lead his side to a win against Liverpool in the Spanish capital after winning 1-0 and boasts a strong record when it comes to elite management. Notably, the Argentine infamously broke the Real Madrid-Barcelona duopoly in La Liga back in 2014 by winning the title, while he’s also guided *Los Rojiblancos* to two Champions League finals.

Interestingly, the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6729929/Diego-Simeone-probably-never-manage-Premier-League.html) claimed he actually took English lessons when United ‘circled’ around him back in 2014.

Described by Jeremy Wilson of the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/02/17/atletico-madrids-diego-simeone-has-footballs-extraordinary-manager/) as the ‘most extraordinary manager of the past decade’, the 49-year-old appeared to get the backing of plenty of supporters online last night after beating Liverpool amid problems for the Red Devils this season even in light of their win against Chelsea.

With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the comments online, where one fan said Solskjaer would ‘never come close’ to Simeone.
