Curtis and Lowe must hit top form today
Portsmouth haven’t been at their best in recent times as their automatic promotion hopes continue to slip away, with the teams above them all picking up points.

Pompey have failed to win in any of their last five League One fixtures, which has had a negative affect on their title push and overall automatic promotion hopes.

Interestingly, Portsmouth will travel to Roots Hall to face Southend United later on today in their next League One fixture. The Seasiders haven’t won in any of their last four league games and they were on the receiving end of a 3-0 thrashing midweek, so Kenny Jackett will fancy his side to secure a much-needed win.

Of course, Luton are currently leading the way with a healthy lead but things could all change in the blink of an eye if a couple of Pompey’s star men rediscover their form.

So, these TWO Portsmouth players need to hit top form in order to keep title dreams alive today…

RONAN CURTIS

Ronan Curtis has established himself as one of the best attackers in League One this season, having produced an impressive 10 goals and 11 assists in 28 appearances.

However, the Republic of Ireland international hasn’t exactly been at this best in recent times as he’s only managed to find the back of the net once in his last five appearances, and he looked rather ordinary against Plymouth.

So, Jackett will be hoping that the 22-year-old can step his game up later on today as they’ll need his creativity and finishing ability in the final third if they are to take anything away from Roots Hall.

JAMAL LOWE

Jamal Lowe is enjoying arguably the best season in his career thus far as he’s scored 11 goals and provided six assists.

Although, he’s struggled to reach his full potential since grabbing a couple of assists against Luton Town, as contributions have dried up in the final third.

Therefore, he needs to rediscover some form if Pompey are to stand any chance of challenging the Hatters for the title from here on in, as Lowe has often been the source of all things brilliant and makes things tick.
