If there is one position that West Ham United could do with improving in the summer, then central midfield is one that should be considered.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have lacked creativity from the central areas of the field at times this season, which may have cost them any chance of finishing higher than they are currently on track for.
The summer can present clubs with the perfect opportunity to make such improvements and according to a report by Sport Witness, it appears Irfan Kahveci is on the Hammers’ radar to try and help them rectify those concerns.
But, what would the potential consequences be if West Ham were to sign the Basaksehir midfielder? Let’s take a look below.
Husillos solves creativity issues
If Mario Husillos were able to bring the 23-year-old to the London Stadium this summer, he would go a long way into helping the club to solve their creativity issues.
Kahveci is physically strong on the ball and has an excellent eye for a key pass, whilst he has quick feet and can take the ball around his defender with relative ease. And, his long-range shooting is something that can hugely benefit West Ham in the future.
The Turkish international has a sweet left-footed drive that can take the opposition by surprise and he is not scared of trying his luck from distance, adding a valuable goal-threat to the Irons’ attack.
Let’s make no mistake about this. Mark Noble has been brilliant in his recent performances, however, his age is something that could go against him in Pellegrini’s future plans at the London Stadium.
Declan Rice appears to be the future of the club and it is hugely unlikely that the England international will be dropped, so if Kavechi does arrive in east London, it could be time for Mr West Ham to sit on the sidelines.
Kavechi is everything the Hammers could want in a central midfielder as he is a versatile individual who can occupy a number of roles in the engine room, who can offer Pellegrini plenty of options in the middle of the pitch. He is disciplined enough to play in a deeper role, where he could partner up with Rice, but he also possesses the technical ability to play as an advanced playmaker.
West Ham fans, what do you think the potential consequences would be if Kavechi was to join the Hammers this summer? Let us know your thoughts by sharing them with us below.
