Wolverhampton Wanderers kept their hopes of finishing seventh in the Premier League alive on Saturday afternoon as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side enjoy an impressive debut season back in the top-flight.
Although the current campaign has been remarkable for the Molineux outfit, it would not be a surprise to see Wolves head into the transfer market this summer to try and make improvements to their squad and take things up another level.
And, it appears that a striker could be on their radar with Euro United claiming on Twitter that Moussa Marega is of interest.
However, what would be the potential consequences of a move for the Mali international this summer? Let’s take a look below.
Fosun secure additional firepower
Raul Jimenez has been incredible for Wolves this season whilst on loan from Benfica, so much so that the club have decided to break their transfer record and make his spell permanent. However, the Mexico international would benefit from having Marega alongside him in the attack and Fosun should look to make it happen.
He is an extremely powerful striker that is very good in the air, which could make him a useful target man as he can also hold off the defenders to allow his team-mates to join in with any potential attacks. The 27-year-old has bundles of pace as well, which makes him really dangerous on counter-attacks and his movement of the ball makes him a real threat in and around the penalty area.
Traore Frozen Out
To say Adama Traore has not had the best of times at Molineux this season might be considered an understatement, however, things could already be about to get a lot worse for him.
Having joined Wolves from Middlesbrough last summer for a fee of £18million, the 23-year-old has had a tough debut season for Nuno’s side making just eight starts in the Premier League, which has led to doubts about his future at the club, per TEAMtalk.
If Marega was to join in the summer, the winger could find himself further frozen out of the side as Diogo Jota would likely move into a wide position to allow the Mali international to partner up with Jimenez at the top of the attack.
Wolves fans, what do you think would happen if Marega joined the club in the summer? Let us know your thoughts by sharing them with us below.
