It seems like Paul Pogba has irritated a couple of people with his latest comments.
The 26-year-old recently told reporters that it might be time for a new challenge away from Manchester United, and former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes he is not showing his club enough respect. Here’s a closer look at his comments in our latest Pundit’s Choice article.
“There are ways to do it,” Parlour said on talkSPORT when discussing Pogba’s recent comments. “How Eden Hazard left Chelsea – he did it in the right way. He respected the club.
“You’ve got to respect Manchester United. No one is bigger than Manchester United,” Parlour concluded.
Indeed, Hazard certainly left Stamford Bridge on a good note, with his display in the Europa League final against Parlour’s old side giving Chelsea supporters even more of a reason to give him their blessing as he departed for Real Madrid.
Of course, it is important to consider the context here. Considering what Hazard was able to achieve at Chelsea, he was always going to get a lot of leeway on his way out. Pogba, on the other hand, will not be afforded the same having failed to make a similar impact at Old Trafford.
But even so, the notion that he has been disrespectful compared to someone like Hazard, for instance, still feels pretty harsh.
All the Frenchman has said is that he is thinking about a challenge elsewhere. “I am thinking of this: To have a new challenge somewhere else,” were his exact words (via BBC Sport). What is wrong with that?Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
