Tottenham Hotspur: Alan Hutton raves over Heung-min Son - Pundits Choice

Heung-min Son was named the official Man of the Match for Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, as reported by the club’s official Twitter page.

This comes after the winger scored 2 goals, made 1 key pass, completed 1 dribble, 1 tackle and 1 interception in the 90 minutes he was on the pitch, as per WhoScored.

The South Korea international had missed the first two games of the campaign through suspension, as per Transfermarkt.

Having failed to impact the 1-0 loss against Newcastle United, he got an assist in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal, following that up with his double against Palace – showing the growing influence he has had since returning.

The Palace game definitely saw the 27-year-old’s best performance of the season so far and is something he will aim to replicate, as he looks to emulate last season, in which he played 48 games across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and assisting 10.

He impressed many with that performance and Alan Hutton is among those who were left enthused by the Spurs number 7.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Unbelievable, last season he was amazing, he just plays hearty, he just seems to love playing football so to get him back to his very best is only going to be a strong point for Tottenham going forward.

“It was a masterclass between him and [Serge] Aurier, who came in and had a solid performance, but yeah, Son Man of the Match for me all day long.

“Every time you see him on the pitch he is smiling, he just generally seems to love being on the pitch, so to have a player like that who works hard, gives you everything, is technically far beyond any other players, it must be a dream to work with him, to be on his team or manage him. He’s a real special player.”

This performance was certainly impressive from Son, so Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping he can add to that against Leicester City on Saturday, especially after he was rested for the majority of the 2-2 Champions League draw against Olympiacos, coming on for the last 17 minutes.
