Bournemouth have been one of the surprise packages in the league this year and currently sit sixth in the table. Manchester United on the other hand, seem a loss away from a huge crisis at the club.
Thanks to Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, the Cherries have soared up the table and are one of the form teams in the league. The two forwards have stolen the headlines at the club but the impact of new signing David Brooks should also be recognised.
At Man U, there’s an incredible wealth of attacking talent that is seemingly being wasted at the club and one of the players who needs to look for a move away is Marcus Rashford.
Signed for £10 million from Sheffield United, Brooks has made a quick start to life on the south coast and has been an instant hit at the club.
He’s already scored three goals in nine games for Bournemouth and has fitted in perfectly with Eddie Howe’s attacking style of play. Capable of playing as a winger or attacking midfielder, Brooks is incredibly comfortable with the ball at his feet and loves to take on defenders.
Crucially, he’s capable of recording double digits in goals and assists and, at 20-years-old, it looks as though Bournemouth have signed a future star. Combined with Fraser and Wilson up front, Bournemouth might just have one of the best attacking trios outside of the top six. It’s still early but as it stands, Brooks looks like an absolute steal.

A product of the Manchester United youth academy, Rashford has enjoyed a meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene under LVG but, in the last year, his progression at the club has stalled.
In his first season at the club, Rashford was a breath of fresh air as he scored five goals in 11 games in the league. With Jose Mourinho now at the club, however, it seems as though Rashford is stagnating.
Arguably the biggest problem is that his best position is up front as a striker but with Romelu Lukaku taking that role, he’s often been shifted to the wing. Recently against Everton, he was handed the starting striker role through the middle but in the long-term he’ll likely be played on the wing.
He’s only scored one goal this year and for someone of his massive talent, that’s nowhere near good enough. A move away might be the best thing for the forward.

Brooks has made a brilliant start to his career at Bournemouth and there’s no doubt that he’ll become a very good player who could potentially command a large transfer fee in a few years.
All he needs to do is just work on his consistency and end product as the talent is certainly there.
In terms of Rashford, Man U have a player that has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the league. As we saw when he broke onto the scene, the England international has the potential to be devastating but with Mourinho at the club, he’ll never develop like he should. Purely because of his world-class talent, the Man U man wins this one.
