With the season coming to its final stages, Tottenham Hotspur fans must be wondering how their club will finish up. Spurs appear to have been found out in the Premier League recently with their poor run of form, whilst their hopes of Champions League success still remain alive for the time being.
Many of the faithful will want to see the club spend in the transfer window this summer following two windows of inactivity and will have been excited with some of the names being linked with the club over the past few weeks.
Giovani Lo Celso and Suso have been just two of the names mentioned as possible targets, should Tottenham lose Christian Eriksen, however, which of the two playmakers would be best to replace the Dane?
Let’s take a closer look at both men below…
Giovani Lo Celso
Spanish media outlet Marca had claimed recently that Tottenham are thought to be considering a move for the Argentina international as a potential option for them.
The 22-year-old is currently excelling at Real Betis during his loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain and is expected to complete a permanent move to the Sevilla-based outfit in the summer, although they are allegedly prepared to cash in.
And, he would certainly not be a bad player for Mauricio Pochettino to have arrive at the club as the South American is extremely talented. Lo Celso, who is valued at £36million (Transfermarkt) has bundles of ability going forward, with goals and assists in his locker and still has plenty of potential as he is not quite yet the finished article – something that Pochettino could work his magic with.
The Argentine would offer plenty of versatility to Spurs in the midfield areas, creating the manager a number of additional options in trying to accommodate all the quality players he already has, whilst he has the ability to weave past defences and cause problems in the final third of the pitch.

Tuttomercatoweb have claimed recently that Tottenham are interested in AC Milan’s Suso, with it being believed that the Italian giants will be prepared to allow him to leave in the summer.
The 25-year-old may not have had the best times in England during his time with Liverpool, however, he has since developed his game further and has blossomed into a rather quality playmaker.
The Spaniard, valued at £40.5m (Transfermarkt) has no problem creating a cutting-edge pass for the forwards, whilst he is not shy of having an attempt at goal either – with seven assists and six goals in his 30 appearances across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt) – which could help to alleviate the pressure from the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Like Lo Celso, Suso is a fine dribbler of the ball and has an exceptional technique when it comes to having the ball at his feet. He can run with the ball at pace, whilst also being a capable option in any position across the midfield or the attack, providing Pochettino with a number of different options in which to utilise him.
TT Grade: B
Both players are gifted when it comes to their attacking prowess and are extremely talented when it comes down to having the ball at their feet.
Lo Celso and Suso both have the ability to add something extra to the attack and would surely help Tottenham to compete in the Premier League and Champions League even further and potentially provide them with the silverware fans have been longing for.
However, in regards to the battle, Lo Celso would have to win this one as he has shown more promise this season and could be an individual that would benefit the most from developing under the guidance of Pochettino.
Tottenham fans, what do you make of the outcome of this battle? Who do you think would be better at the club? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
