Many Nottingham Forest fans will feel hopeful that their side can secure themselves a play-off place in the current campaign, while Aston Villa will be mounting their own push for a place in the top-six.
Interestingly, Nottingham Forest will welcome Aston Villa to the City Ground tonight in the Championship. This could be a season-defining game for both sides as they continue to hunt down a play-off place.
Although, all eyes may be on two men in particular as Aston Villa are reportedly still eyeing a move for Joe Lolley, and The Sun reported last month that Lolley is being lined up as Grealish’s replacement.
So, let’s compared the two players…
Jack Grealish returned from injury to face Derby County in the Championship earlier on this month and it’s safe to say that he’s been the standout performer for the Villans since then, having registered two goals in two games.
The Englishman has only produced four goals and four assists up until this point but his stats don’t do his performances any justice as he’s been the source of all things brilliant for the Midlands club.
Indeed, the attacking midfielder has even been gifted the captain’s armband in Villa’s last two Championship appearances and they’ve won both games, which has made fans love the 23-year-old even more.
TT GRADE: A-
Joe Lolley has been one of the standout performers for Nottingham Forest in the current campaign. He has an impressive eight goals and eight assists to his name at this moment in time, but he’s struggled since December as he’s found the back of the net just twice in 17 Championship appearances.
It comes as some surprise that the Englishman has been tipped to replace Grealish at Aston Villa as they operate in completely different positions. Lolley operated in an attacking midfield role against Reading back in January and that was the last and only time he featured there, which says something.
TT GRADE: A-
When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Jack Grealish has a lot more potential and quality as he continues to prove that class is permanent after returning from a spell out on the sidelines.
Many Aston Villa fans will agree that there’re better options out there if Grealish was to leave Villa Park. Indeed, Lolley has looked hugely impressive in the Championship but he’s a completely different player to Grealish and his one performance in an attacking midfield role suggested he’s not fit to lace the Englishman’s boots at Villa.
