Leeds United currently find themselves in the automatic promotion places, while Aston Villa are struggling to challenge for a play-off spot under Dean Smith.
The Whites won’t accept anything less than promotion to the Premier League having come on leaps and bounds under Marcelo Bielsa. Meanwhile, the Villains will need to improve defensively if they are to stand any chance of challenging for promotion, with consistency being a slight issue.
Interestingly, Leeds United will travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa at the weekend, so we took a look at Kemar Roofe and Tammy Abraham’s influence at their respective clubs.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
Leeds United signed Kemar Roofe from Oxford United for £3 million, which has proved to be a bargain deal when you consider how influential he has been during his time at Elland Road.
The forward currently has 10 goals and two assists to his name in 16 appearances for the Whites, as one of the leading scorers in the Championship, despite spending time out on the sidelines due to an injury.
Indeed, the 25-year-old will play a huge part in Leeds’ push for promotion to the Premier League and he has already got them to where they are now, so his contributions have been priceless.
TT GRADE: A
Aston Villa secured a brilliant agreement back in the summer transfer window as Steve Bruce decided to bring Tammy Abraham to the club on loan.
The Englishman has been on absolute fire in the Championship this season as he continues to make all the headlines at Villa Park, with 11 goals to his name in 15 appearances.
Therefore, with Dean Smith’s side chasing a play-off place at this moment in time, they’ll be relying on Abraham to deliver the goods from here on in.
TT GRADE: A
When comparing these two, it’s very difficult to separate them as they’ve both been influential for their respective clubs in the current campaign, with goals being a guarantee.
Kemar Roofe continues to put in match-winning performances for Leeds as their main man at the pinnacle of the attack, so he will have a big part to play from here on in.
And, Tammy Abraham will be looking to continue to produce in the final third for Aston Villa, with promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs being dependant on how he performs.
Both players have already showcased their talents in the Championship this season and will arguably both be playing Premier League football next season, but at this moment in time it’s too hard to separate them as they’re currently matching each other stride for stride.
