Leeds United and Norwich City will meet in Saturday’s evening game as the two sides battle it out at the top of the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side hold a three-point advantage over The Canaries as they head into the meeting at Elland Road that will likely have huge title implications.
Both sides have not been shy of finding the back of the net on a regular basis this season either, with the club’s strikers having played key roles for their respective sides.
Teemu Pukki has starred for Norwich, whilst there is a general excitement to see Patrick Bamford back in action at Elland Road following his nightmare start with the club.
However, who is better?
The transfer to take Bamford from Middlesbrough to Leeds was at the other end of the spectrum when considering Pukki’s switch to Norwich.
The forward cost The Whites around £7million in the summer and he has since been blighted with injuries during his early days at Elland Road.
Despite his troubles, he did start life well in Yorkshire for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, having hit one goal and providing a further assist in his six Championship matches so far.
The 25-year-old will likely feel like a new signing at Leeds when he does finally make a return, and if his early form is anything to go by, he could be crucial to Leeds lifting the Championship title at the end of the season.
TT Grade: B
Pukki arrived at Carrow Road on a free transfer last summer following his decision to leave Brondby and has been a star for Daniel Farke’s side.
The Finland international is currently third in the Championship’s goalscoring charts with 17 goals in his 26 matches so far, as well as providing his team-mates with a further five assists.
The 28-year-old is a key reason as to why Norwich are currently pushing for a place in the Premier League and are challenging Leeds for the spot at the top of the table.
After a disappointing spell with Celtic a few years ago, Pukki could have been considered a gamble, however, it does appear this one may have paid off for The Canaries.
TT Grade: A
Both men have clearly had different starts to life at their respective clubs since the summer.
Pukki appears to have been a steal for Farke’s side this season as the 28-year-old continues to fire in the goals to help Norwich keep pace with the Championship leaders.
Bamford started brightly and showed glimpses of why Leeds splashed out a big transfer fee to secure his services and will be hopeful of him making an instant impact when he returns to the first-team set-up.
However, with how the season has currently gone, it would be hard to argue against Pukki coming out on top of this particular transfer battle.
