Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will go up against each other once again at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday for the second time in a matter of days, however, this time with a focus on the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino will have been accustomed to how their managerial counterpart likes to operate first hand with their recent close-up encounters and something pretty special could be required for one of the men to come out victorious.
That could mean the stage is set for either Raheem Sterling or Son Heung-min to steal the show (once again!) and provide the bit of magic and class that is required for their side to take all three points and keep their respective end-of-season aims alive.
However, which player would come out on top when the duo are pitted against each other in a battle? Let’s take a closer look at the pair below.
Where do you start with Sterling?! The England international has been nothing short of amazing this season and appears to only be getting better and better every match he features in.
He has completely justified the £49million transfer fee Txiki Begiristain paid Liverpool for him back in the summer of 2015 and will certainly not be looking back at that price as it could be argued as being a genius swoop.
Valued at £108m by Transfermarkt, Sterling has hit 23 goals in his 45 appearances across all competitions so far and has turned out as one of Guardiola’s stars.
The 24-year-old netted twice against Tottenham in midweek (and thought he had his hat-trick in the dying moments) and Manchester City would love to see him continue his fine form once again as they look to continue to keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League in the race for the title.
TT Grade: A+
What Sterling has provided for Manchester City, Son Heung-min has provided for Tottenham in abundance as well.
The South Korea international has been outstanding during his time at Tottenham, making Levy’s £27million swoop from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015 appear a bargain. Indeed, securing his services has proved to be a masterstroke decision as he’s been unstoppable at times in the Premier League.
Son has become a reliable figure for Pochettino throughout the campaign as well as he has helped to ease the huge hole Harry Kane’s absences with injuries have caused at times.
TT Grade: A
How are you supposed to compare both Sterling and Son?! Both have been truly incredible for their respective clubs and are obviously some of the best attacking players in world football at the moment.
However, when pushed for a decision, Sterling’s meteoric rise under Guardiola helps him to just edge this battle between the two superstars.
If both players at their very best on Saturday afternoon, then we could have another humdinger of a clash on our hands.
