On the 14th July 2017, Leyton Orient signed striker Macauley Bonne from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee.
Bonne was one of 19 summer signings for the east London club that season as Orient has a literal change of squad, as 27 players left the club due to the results of the previous campaign.
Fans were delighted to see him join, and fast forward a few years into 2019, and their excitement was certainly justified.
Great signing. Young lad, cares about nothing other than scoring goals. Natural goalscorer who finds opportunities from very little.

The then 21-year-old striker joined the club at a crucial point in its history.
Orient had just been relegated to the National League, ending a 112-year stay in the Football League and an end of an era for the club, who were embarking into unfamiliar territory the likes of which even the oldest of fans would have trouble remembering.
Of the 19 players to join the east London side in the summer, it was quickly apparent Bonne was the cream of the crop.
In his first campaign with the O’s, Bonne scored 22 goals in 44 appearances for the club as Justin Edinburgh’s club finished 13th in the National League, and this season the Zimbabwe international has been just as good.
Bonne’s form for Orient has been so impressive that Premier League side Leicester City were reportedly interested in the striker in December, however, no bid has come in from the Foxes as their look for the next Jamie Vardy continues.
The 23-year-old striker committed his future to the club last summer when Bonne signed a new two-year deal with Orient, keeping him at the club until 2020.
It’s clear that even the high expectations that fans had back when the attacker arrived have been blown out of the water.
