Flashback: Alfonso Pedraza’s rather flat Leeds loan spell - Transfer Flashbacks

Leeds United managed to bring Alfonso Pedraza to Elland Road on 31st January 2017 on a six-month loan spell from Villarreal.

The Spanish winger was one of Garry Monk’s deadline day signings and had certainly brought plenty of optimism and excitement to the Yorkshire outfit’s faithful.

Leeds fans were excited when the £4.5million-rated speedster, as per Transfermarkt, and a number of fans had taken to Twitter to reveal their delight when his arrival was announced.

Here are some of their reactions:

Fans will have been disappointed with what the Villarreal man brought to Elland Road, considering the excitement they had originally held for him.

Pedraza played in 14 Championship matches, however, he managed to score just once and saw the minutes he had on the pitch continue to be significantly reduced as the season drew to a close.

Plenty was expected of the winger, with the option to complete a permanent deal for him should they have won promotion to the Premier League.

Pedraza continues to remain at Villarreal where he has featured on a regular basis for the La Liga side across all competitions.

However, Leeds continue to find themselves within the Championship, although a place in the top-flight could become a reality for Marcelo Bielsa and his side.

Leeds fans – thoughts?
