Sometimes, moments of brilliance can write a player into the folklore of a club and enter his name into the history books forever. Just ask Arsenal’s Bernd Leno.
On 2 March 2019, the German shot-stopper made a miraculous double save against fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur just before the half-time whistle and helped to preserve their lead heading into the interval, although they did end up sharing the points on the day.
Many of those that were watching the game were left with their jaws on the floor at just how good and remarkable it was, and as is the norm these days, the Arsenal faithful reacted in their droves to the outstanding piece of work on Twitter.
Here are just a few of those reactions…

Having joined in the summer from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee believed to be around £19.2million (Guardian), Leno had to be patient for his chance in between the sticks.
An injury to Petr Cech gave the German his chance to shine for Unai Emery’s side and he has not looked back as he has played in every Premier League match since coming into the starting XI.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ‘keeper has been outstanding throughout the campaign and appears to have taken life to English football rather well in his debut season, especially with a concerning defence in front of him.
The 27-year-old has come up with a number of crucial saves to help Arsenal go on the 22-game unbeaten run before Christmas whilst he also helped them to go without loss in all-but-two of their home games in the top-flight this season.
Leno has incredible reflexes and his ability to command his area, and as such, is quickly establishing himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the division, whilst also becoming a favourite with the fans at the club, which for a shot-stopper at the Emirates Stadium has been a long time coming.
Whilst the defence is still concerning, at least Arsenal fans will be able to rest easy knowing that they finally have a goalkeeper that can help improve the club at the back for the foreseeable future.
