Sunderland appointed former Man United boss David Moyes as their manager in the summer of 2016 after Sam Allardyce was appointed as England manager.
The Scot had been without a job since being sacked by Spanish outfit Real Sociedad, and was raring to go in the Premier League.
Allardyce had staved off relegation for The Black Cats the season before, and the club and fans were expecting him to take the club forward for the coming season.
This is what the fans had to say:
good appointment, will easily stay up!

It was not a season to remember for the Scot or Sunderland fans as the club were relegated from the Premier League.
The Black Cats kept their faith in Moyes throughout the season, but it proved to be in vain. To make matters worse, the manager had completely lost the trust and respect of his players, with rumours that some refused to play in the last game of the season.
Moyes left the club at the end of that season, leaving a new man to take over in the Championship. But this will not be a spell that will be remembered fondly by Sunderland fans.
