In a 13 year career at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard cemented his place as a legend at Chelsea.
The midfielder won almost everything there is to win for himself and for Chelsea. A three-time Premier League winner, a four-time FA Cup winner, a two-time League Cup winner and a Champions League winner; Lampard had a hugely successful career in Blue. Furthermore, he was a Premier League Player of the Season, as well as just falling short of being awarded the Ballon d’Or.
However, when he left Chelsea to move to New York City FC (owned by Man City), very few fans would have imagined that he would wind up playing against Chelsea for The Citizens one day- even fewer would have thought that he would score against them.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, that became a reality, back in 2014 at the Etihad, in one of the strangest moments in Premier League history.
