Silva worked wonders during his time in Estoril as he helped the Portuguese club return to the top-flight as champions after 7 years. He then managed to secure a fifth-place finish which secured qualification for Europe.
Indeed, the 41-year-old managed to secure silverware during his next job at Sporting Lisbon, as well as at Olympiacos after, with a Champions League win against Arsenal already under his belt prior to his move to Hull City.
It’s safe to say that Silva pulled off a number of stunning results during his time at Hull, including wins over Manchester United and Liverpool, which helped him make a name for himself in English football.
Watford were flying high in the Premier League during Silva’s first season at Vicarage Road but attention from Everton soon had an effect on the Hornets’ form, which contributed towards him being dismissed.
Everton announced that they had appointed Marco Silva as their new manager on the 31st of May 2018.
The Toffees weren’t able to secure all three points during his first competitive game in charge as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves. And, they went on a disappointing run after that as they only managed to pick up six points from their opening six games, but he did manage to recover things as they ended up going on an impressive run.
It comes as some surprise that a number of fans were furious about the club’s decision to appoint Silva as he has been able to grind out a number of positive results in the current campaign.
But, the Merseyside club now find themselves trailing in the race for a European spot, with supporters beginning to get impatient after a negative run of results. So, things could start to unravel at Goodison Park if he’s not careful.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
