Rangers fans have had it rough over the last decade or so. All of their club’s decline was self-inflicted, but it was still tough on the Gers. However, in 2016, April 5th to be exact, the Bluenoses secured their long-awaited return to the Scottish Premier League when they overcame Dumbarton 1-0 to clinch the Scottish Championship title.

A basic 1-0 Ibrox win, the goalscoring being the current club captain James Tavernier, was enough for the Bluenoses to make their way back to the Scottish Premier League that day, and it’s a day that has lived long in the memory of the fans. They’ve struggled as of late with their quest to try and challenge and bring down Celtic, but at least they’re in the same league as their Old Firm rivals.
It was never going to be easy for Rangers to make their way back to the top and compete again, but it’s now happening and they have a number of people in and around the club to thank for it. The next step will be to make themselves even harder to beat and stop Celtic from completing ten in a row by securing the 55, but it won’t be easy, and if it does happen it will be another amazing day like when they won the Championship in 2016.

The Gers were all in ecstasy when they confirmed their Scottish Premier League promotion and will be equally delighted when they finally catch Celtic.
