Flashback: Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-1

In our latest instalment of Flashback, we take a look back at the result that Tottenham fans will be hoping their side emulate in Madrid against Liverpool in the Champions League final, and how fans reacted on the day.

Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Champions League final and come in as major underdogs. Yet, recent history hasn’t seen the north London club blown away in this fixture. Encounters have generally been settled by the single goal. In fact, it was less than two years ago that Tottenham gave Liverpool a rather damaging 4-1 thumping at Wembley.

Harry Kane was the source of so many problems for the Reds, scoring twice. Dele Alli and Son Heung-min also chipped in with goals. It was a day to celebrate for Tottenham fans, one they hope will be repeated in tonight’s fixture.

Tonight’s game will certainly be a lot harder than it was back in October 2017, but this is a team Tottenham know they can beat. With Harry Winks and Kane back in the fold, fans will be confident they can once again overcome their rivals.

Tottenham fans, what do you think? Will you come out on top in tonight’s game? What are your memories of the 4-1 battering just a couple of years ago? Comment below.
