Wolverhampton Wanderers drafted in the Portuguese boss to help them secure promotion to the Premier League, which is exactly what was achieved in his first season at Molineux.
Some supporters were over the moon with the club’s choice to bring him in as the club’s new head coach, as they took to the confirmation of the signing on Twitter in a delightful manner.

In May 2012, Rio Ave F.C. sacked manager Carlos Brito and announced the appointment of Nuno Santo. In his second season in charge, he qualified the team to both the Taca de Portugal and Taca da Liga finals, and took them into to the UEFA Europa League for the first time in its history.
However, the Portuguese boss signed a one-year contract with Valencia CF in La Liga on the 4th of July 2014. He managed to lead them to a fourth place finish in his first year, while he was named La Liga Manager of the Month three times, before resigning on the 29th of November 2015.
On the 1st of June 2016, Nuno Santo signed a two-year contract with Porto. However, the following year, after a season without any silverware, he was relieved of his duties.
Importantly, on the 31st of May 2017, Nuno Espirito Santo was named as the new head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers, signing a three-year deal.
He got off to a rather impressive start in the Midlands as was voted the Manager of the Month in November as his team won all four of their games, scoring 13 times. The Portuguese boss led the club to the Premier League after a six-year absence, as they were crowned champions of the Championship.
His hard work paid off in the summer of this year as it was announced that his contract had been extended until 2021. And, he has continued to defy expectations in the Premier League in the current campaign, having secured a Manager of the Month award already.
So, it comes as no surprise that supporters lost their minds over the appointment as he has proven to be one of the best pieces of business that the club has ever completed, with things only set to get better from here on in.
