Not a bad appointment looking back, was it? It is nearly three years ago now that Sheffield United appointed Chris Wilder as manager and the club has only gone from strength to strength under his guidance.
The Blades may now have promotion to the Premier League in their sights, but when Wilder took over United as a midtable League One side, that could not have been more than a distant dream. His arrival as manager of his boyhood club left lots of fans just hoping for the best after the appointment, given the managerial merry-go-round at Bramall Lane at the time.
good choice! Win it lose, I don’t care – those players don’t give 100%, they’ll be gone. Tufty won’t put up with any crap.

However, not all fans had such a positive outlook on it. A couple of others were not best pleased.

Given how Wilder has developed the side, with the players adhering to his style of play and demonstrating it very well, it is safe to say those original doubts about his appointment quickly vanished. If he can take the Blades all the way to the top tier of English football once again, it will be a remarkable achievement.
While many would have seen his arrival as a risk, its certainly paying off now, that’s for sure.
