Ezgjan Alioski began his club career as a left-back in the second team of BSC Young Boys where from 2010 to 2013 he scored four goals in 57 matches.
He joined FC Lugano on loan in January 2016 and was soon converted into an attacking right winger and striker, which provided him plenty of success. And, in June 2016, his move was made permanent.
The Macedonian international scored seven goals in 10 games at one point, and continued to impress in his last season as he ended up finishing on 16 goals and 14 assists, which caught the eye of Leeds.
On the 13th of July 2017, Leeds United signed Ezgjan Alioski from FC Lugano for an undisclosed fee.
Interestingly, the 26-year-old made his debut in a 3–2 victory against Bolton Wanderers and created the assist for former teammate Chris Wood’s goal. And, he went on to receive a number of man of the match awards, along with being named as the club’s player of the month for November.
He later went on to be nominated for Leeds United’s Player of the Year award, ending the season with seven goals and five assists.
However, things have gone downhill from there as he currently finds himself struggling to ensure any consistency in the side, which has forced a number of supporters into asking that the club look to sell him in the January transfer window.
So, it comes as no surprise that supporters were excited about the signing as he was one of the standout performers during his first season at the club, but Andrea Radrizzani’s ambitious move to bring him to Elland Road is starting to backfire as his performances have been abysmal in the current campaign.Like what the TT have on offer?
