Having been relegated from the Premier League, Aston Vila went on a strong recruitment drive in the summer of 2016 as they looked to return to English football’s summit at the first time of asking.
And one player the club felt could help them do so was Mile Jedinak, who delighted Aston Villa supporters when he joined from Crystal Palace.
We are delighted too. You can probably here the cheers from 4000 miles away!

The Villans, of course, were unable to win promotion back to the Premier League despite the addition of Jedinak and a host of other signings.
However, the former Australia captain still proved to be a very good bit of business done by the club.
While Jedinak has spent a lot of time playing in central defence this season, the 34-year-old’s arrival was one that initially brought steel to Aston Villa’s midfield.
At Crystal Palace, Jedinak was one of the better defensive midfielders in the Premier League away for the division’s elite clubs, and his authoritative displays from the middle of the park were something he was able to transfer to the Villans.
All in all, Jedinak was a clever capture for Aston Villa and one supporters were right to be excited about.
