Aston Villa fans won’t have very fond memories of Jordan Veretout as he offered very little during his time at Villa Park, but they’ll certainly be wishing they could have him back now.
The midfielder was seen as a waster by many supporters as he often went under the radar on the field and did very little, so it comes as no surprise that fans were pleased to see him leave.
Indeed, a lot of supporters were delighted to see him join Fiorentina as they took to Twitter to express their feelings.

Said he wanted to go back to France and ends up in Italy.
Thank you Fiorentina for relieving us of this waster.

Jordan Veretout joined Aston Villa from French side Nantes back in 2015.
He was very highly-rated over in France but he was never really able to show exactly what he was capable of during his time at the club, despite producing five assists. Indeed, supporters labelled him as a flop and they weren’t wrong as he offered very little on the field and very rarely wore the shirt with any pride.
Of course, adjusting to the Premier League can be difficult for any player, let alone a man who’s joined from another country, but his performances didn’t suggest he was even trying at times.
But, fans surely must regret wanting to see him leave as he’s developed into a star over in Italy as he continues to produce world-class performances at Fiorentina, with four goals and five assists to his name this season.
He would fit perfectly into Villa’s midfield at this moment in time and he’s entering the peak years of his career, so the Villans really did make a big mistake by selling him back in 2015.
