Transfers that ruined careers: Sandro Ramirez and Everton

What an awful signing Sandro Ramirez turned out to be for Everton! They could not have bought a worse striker if they tried!

Admittedly, the £5.3million the Toffees decided to splash on him after a really productive year in front of goal for Malaga did not look to be a bad bit of business at the time.

14 goals in 30 La Liga appearances for the forward would have sent Everton fans into a whirlwind of excitement when he arrived, however, it was not long until everyone was left feeling really bitter about the deal with an untold amount of disappointment.

He lasted just six months and scored just one goal! One goal! This was supposed to be the player to replace Romelu Lukaku (although we’re not complaining too much given how well his Manchester United career has gone).

That solitary goal came in a defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League as well! He could’nt even hit a barn door in the Premier League, where it arguably mattered most!

Thus, it would seem that transfer has potentially ruined Ramirez’s career as he still cannot find his shooting boots and appears to have forgotten how to even play football and do the job he is employed to do.

Did we mention he only scored once?! Well, he has not managed to find the net since – almost two years ago! And, it is not like he has not been playing regular football!

Loan spells back in Spain with Sevilla and Real Sociedad were supposed to help his confidence grow, not dwindle it even further and completely evaporate it!

He might still have two years left on his £65,000-a-week contract at Everton (Spotrac), but if he cannot find the back of the net, he is hardly going to be wanted at Goodison Park – or anywhere else for that matter!

Good luck with your career Ramirez; we think you’re going to need it more than most.
