Rangers have certainly enjoyed themselves this season under Steven Gerrard.
There is a general consensus that although some of their performances, and in turn results, could have been better but things have largely improved for the Light Blues after a rather poor season last year.
That era belonged to the likes of Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty, however, things really did not go to plan and how the Ibrox outfit had imagined they would.
The Portuguese manager was guilty of bringing in a number of players, who were exciting signings to begin with, but then turned into huge flops.
The likes of Eduardo Herrera, Carlos Pena and Bruno Alves all spring to mind when thinking of Caixinha, however, the devil does some credit where due.
The former boss was the man to bring Alfredo Morelos to Rangers and the Colombian has been a hit ever since.
The 22-year-old arrived from HJK for a fee thought to be in the region of £1million in the summer of 2017.
In his first season at Ibrox, Morelos hit 18 goals in all competitions as he found his feet within Scottish football and looks to have gone from strength-to-strength under the guidance of Gerrard.
Having seen his performances rewarded with an international call-up to the Colombia national side, the fiery striker is on course to smash last year’s statistics and has netted 17 goals in his 29 matches across all competitions.
There are question marks over his disciplinary record, with the £2.03m-rated star, per Transfermarkt, appearing favourable to a red card at times.
However, his performances have garnered lots of interest in previous transfer windows and it would not be a surprise to see him continue to attract more in the future.
Despite recently signing a new long-term deal, Gerrard and Rangers will need to do all they can to keep their Colombian superstar at Ibrox for as long as possible, however, the future certainly looks bright for Morelos and his career.
