What does the future hold for Ivan Perisic at Inter Milan?

West Ham United used last summer’s transfer window as a way of starting a new era at the club and starting afresh as they managed to bring in a number of high-profile names to the club.

The likes of Manuel Pellegrini, Lukasz Fabianski, Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Issa Diop are just a few that had reputations of varying degrees and have all proved to be rather effective in one way or another this season and have helped the Hammers to improve considerably as they look to head into a new direction.

However, the possibility of bringing in Ivan Perisic to the club could be game-changing for West Ham and could change the type of deals the London Stadium outfit can complete in the future. Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed that the Irons were interested in signing him in the summer.

The 30-year-old is a rather exceptional footballer and could be the type of player (excluding a striker) that the club could thrive having in the side.

Inter Milan signed the winger from Wolfsburg for £17.1 million (as per Transfermarkt).

Hugely experienced, Perisic is a lethal threat in the final third as he has a tremendous amount of creativity and goal power that he can offer on a regular basis as he has proven to be a rather reliable player over the years for Inter Milan.

With the Croatian valued at £31.5 million (Transfermarkt), it looks as if David Gold and David Sullivan will need to spend big to secure his services.

Nevertheless, he can run up and down the wings and has exceptional quality on the ball, as he is blessed with bundles of technique and stunning dribbling ability. He could be the man that helps the forward players with additional chances as he can create opportunities from almost nothing at times.

It would have to go without saying but hearing the Hammers be linked with a player with the quality of the Croatian international would have been unheard of before last summer’s exploits.

Just six months ago, he was linked with a move to Arsenal (via Sky Sports), whilst Tottenham Hotspur (Gazzetta dello Sport) and Manchester United (The Mirror) are all thought to have held an interest in the World Cup finalist at times.

Having a player like Perisic at the London Stadium will go a long way to show how ambitious West Ham are becoming and whilst convincing the likes of Anderson that it would be worthwhile, bringing the Croatian wizard on board could just make it that more appealing for a number of other talented footballers in the future.
