# Tottenham Hotspur: Federico Bernardeschi offered to Spurs as Juventus plan summer overhaul

**According to [Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calciomercato/19-08-2020/calciomercato-juve-paratici-vola-londra-tentazione-united-douglas-berna-3801292509429.shtml?cmpid=shortener_d61f4e6cwK), Juventus chief football officer Fabio Paratici travelled to London for his yearly meeting with Premier League clubs to discuss potential transfer business – with many of the Turin club’s assets up for sale as the Serie A champions plan a summer overhaul.**

The Italian news outlet claimed that Paratici met with officials from a number of English top-flight teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, to outline who could be made available for purchase in the summer transfer window, with Juventus reportedly willing to offload certain surplus-to-requirements players.

Gazzetta stated that Douglas Costa and Alex Sandro are up for grabs from Juventus, but perhaps the most noteworthy potential signing of all is [former Mauricio Pochettino target](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-target-40mrated-fiorentina-winger-federico-bernardeschi-a3434141.html) Federico Bernardeschi.

Targeted as far back as 2017, the ex-Spurs manager was allegedly an admirer of the winger, but ultimately chairman Daniel Levy and co never managed to land his signature.

However, after this meeting, Tottenham appear to have a shot of reigniting their interest after being offered the chance to take Bernardeschi off Juve’s hands.

Valued at £40m three years ago when Spurs first displayed an interest ([Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-target-40mrated-fiorentina-winger-federico-bernardeschi-a3434141.html)), his price tag has now decreased to £25.2m (as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-bernardeschi/profil/spieler/197300)), something that could potentially entice Levy into reconsidering a deal.

Bernardeschi, while somewhat [inconsistent over 2019/20](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/122402/Show/Federico-Bernardeschi), has still displayed his attacking brilliance in [flashes](https://onefootball.com/en/news/video-who-is-arsenal-target-federico-bernardeschi-goals-assists-amazing-skill-30047224) and, at 26 years of age, could be a viable alternative to Lucas Moura on the right flank.

Whether or not Tottenham end up discussing a transfer with Juve remains to be seen, but if Levy does eye a move, Spurs supporters will likely be hoping the Italian can display his ‘[quality](https://www.football-italia.net/136123/mancini-bernardeschi-so-versatile)‘ in north London.
