Journalist Dean Jones believes that Leeds United will sign two new attackers in January.

The Lowdown: Rodrigo and Summerville form

Jesse Marsch’s side have scored 22 goals in 14 Premier League games this season, with half of those coming in the last four fixtures.

Rodrigo and Crysencio Summerville scored against Fulham, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Tottenham prior to the international break, with Leeds picking up two important victories.

However, with Patrick Bamford struggling for form and fitness in 2022, it seems as if attention could be on attacking reinforcements in the New Year.

The Latest: Jones’ comments

Jones, talking to GiveMeSport, believes that the Whites will be active in the New Year, signing two different forwards in what he says could save his job.

“I think he’ll sign two different sorts of attackers in the next window.

“Who these guys are could basically determine whether Marsch stays in the job there or not, so he’s got to get the right man.”

The Verdict: What about defenders?

Leeds found some form in front of goal prior to the World Cup break, thanks mainly to Rodrigo and Summerville, but a new centre-forward could still be of use heading into the second half of the season.

However, the club may also need to look at their defensive options, with Marsch’s side keeping just two clean sheets all season.

They have shipped 26 goals in 14 games, with 13 of those coming in the last five fixtures. Therefore, it could be wise for Marsch to possibly look at bringing in a new defender over the coming months.
