Journalist Pete O'Rourke has been left excited by some recent Tottenham transfer news involving Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.

The Lowdown: Paratici planning?

The Lilywhites were lead by sporting director Fabio Paratici in the summer as Spurs completed eight major signings in total, including a permanent deal for Cristian Romero and move for Destiny Udogie (on loan at Udinese).

As well as the latter duo, manager Antonio Conte saw Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence put pen to paper on moves to north London - perhaps signalling the club's real intent to become a success under the Italian.

There have been reports of Conte potentially receiving further backing with Juventus centre-back and Italian footballing legend Bonucci a transfer target.

Indeed, claims from Serie A have come to light in recent weeks linking the 35-year-old with a move to the Premier League.

The Latest: O'Rourke excited by possible Bonucci move...

Speaking in an interview, journalist O'Rourke has shared excitement after what he's heard on Bonucci potentially joining Spurs.

The reporter told GiveMeSport, following reports linking the veteran to Tottenham, that the colossal centre-half would be a 'massive' signing.

O'Rourke explained:

"The experience that he'd bring to the squad and his winning mentality would be massive if he was to end up leaving Juventus.

"Obviously, he knows all about Antonio Conte and Antonio Conte knows all about him as well, so it would look like a good piece of business if Spurs were able to bring him to the club."

The Verdict: Big move?

The £198,000-per-week big name would bring a wealth of experience to N17 and it's arguable Bonucci still possesses real quality despite being in the twilight phase of his career.

He was called a 'monster' by members of the press for his starring role alongside Giorgio Chiellini in the run to Italy's Euro 2020 final win and such trophy-winning know-how would undoubtedly be of use to Conte at Spurs.
