Tottenham Hotspur need to get midfielder Tanguy Ndombele off their books this summer, says transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Ndombele’s situation

The France international, who was Spurs’ club-record transfer when he joined from Lyon in 2019 for £55m, spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club in Ligue 1.

After returning to Hotspur Way, it appears the 25-year-old’s situation is unchanged for Antonio Conte as he left the Frenchman out of his side’s pre-season tour of South Korea.

The Athletic previously reported that Conte is only willing to work with players included in his plans, rendering Ndombele available for a move away this summer.

The Latest: Jones’ claim

Jones believes Tottenham need to get Ndombele off their books before the transfer window closes in September.

Speaking with GiveMeSport, the journalist claimed:

“Let’s be honest, there’s not a huge market out there to sign Ndombele.

“So, Tottenham’s hard work now is working on finding him a home next season, even if that’s on loan, they need to get him out of the door.”

The Verdict: Has to go

Ndombele, who has made 91 appearances for Spurs, is certainly not a part of Conte’s plans going forward.

Therefore, it is pointless keeping him at Hotspur Way, given the manager’s reluctance to include those omitted from the squad in day-to-day training.

As a result, Fabio Paratici must do all he can to find the Frenchman a new home this summer, with his £27m current market value still on the table.

However, with three years left on his Lilywhites contract, this could be a huge mountain to climb for Spurs.
