# Former Man City striker makes controversial claims

![Attacking Midfield - Stevan Jovetic](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Attacking-Midfield-Stevan-Jovetic-500x318.jpg)Manchester City fans in the Tavern may be laughing and jeering amongst themselves after the Blues’ former striker [Stevan Jovetic claimed that playing in Italy is more difficult than playing in the Premier League.](https://www.espnfc.us/internazionale/story/2759578/premier-league-easier-than-serie-a-says-stevan-jovetic)

Now playing under ex-City boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan, the Montenegro international spent two underwhelming seasons at the Etihad after making a big-money move from Fiorentina.

After making the £22 million move to City back in the summer of 2013, Jovetic netted 8 league goals over 2 seasons. [Asked about his time at the Etihad, the 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at the San Siro, responded:](https://www.espnfc.us/internazionale/story/2759578/premier-league-easier-than-serie-a-says-stevan-jovetic)

> “City? I like the Premier League, it’s easier to play there than in Italy, where there is little space. I had a normal relationship with Pellegrini, we never argued.”

However, Jovetic also revealed how he was, and still is, relatively disappointed at his lack of opportunities under Pellegrini.

> “It was just that I deserved to play more, I thought that then and I think that today too. When I was fit they didn’t play me, when I scored I went off after a maximum of 60 minutes and it’s difficult to do more like this.”

Our fans don’t believe that the Serie A is more difficult than the Premier League and believe Jovetic is just another inferior player who couldn’t hack the challenges of the English game.
