# Fulham: Andre bid submitted

**[Fulham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/fulham-fc-news/) have submitted a bid for Fluminense midfielder Andre, according to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/fulham-launch-bid-fluminense-midfielder-andre).**

### The Lowdown: Fulham targeting a midfielder

The Cottagers have been linked with new midfielders throughout the January transfer window, with Preston North End’s Ben Whiteman [said](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/21119129/fulham-ben-whiteman-transfer-preston/amp/) to be on their list of transfer targets, while Abdoulaye Doucoure has also been [linked](https://theathletic.com/4057683/2023/01/04/everton-abdoulaye-doucoure-transfer/).

Strengthening in central midfield was [considered](https://theathletic.com/3998735/2022/12/26/fulhams-january-transfer-window-maia-central-midfield-and-a-right-back-on-list/) one of [Marco Silva](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/marco-silva/)‘s priorities heading into the January market, although they have missed out on their targets – including [Weston McKennie](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11686993/Leeds-WIN-race-sign-Weston-McKennie-beating-Nottingham-Forest-Fulham.html) – and they have now turned their attention to Andre.

### The Latest: Bid submitted for Andre

According to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/fulham-launch-bid-fluminense-midfielder-andre), the Cottagers have made a bid to sign the Brazilian, amid interest from a number of elite clubs across Europe, including the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool.

However, it appears unlikely that the 21-year-old will leave his current club any time soon, as he has recently renewed his contract until 2026, so Fluminense are under no pressure to sell.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

If Fulham are able to strike an agreement with the Brazilian club, they would be bringing in a player with a range of different qualities. Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has previously described him as a ‘[leader](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1496989880278261763?s=20&t=QGhXcu7-PLGaD1dSKNbR2A)‘, highlighting the positive influence that the 21-year-old has on his team-mates.

Another very impressive part of the youngster’s game is his ability to pick out a pass, weighing in with a completion rate of 92.3% over the course of the past year. That puts him in the 99th percentile compared to other midfielders in what [FBref](https://fbref.com/en/players/ec604e2c/Andre) term ‘Men’s Next 8 Competitions’.

The multi-talented starlet also ranks in the 99th percentile for dribbles completed per 90, averaging 2.18 per match in the same timeframe, so it is disappointing that a move does not appear to be in the offing despite Fulham’s bid, as Andre is showing all the hallmarks that he is ready for the step up to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).
