# Fulham: £10m Sasa Lukic bid submitted

**[Fulham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/fulham-fc-news/) have submitted an improved £10m bid for Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic, according to [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1619623885896355840?s=20&t=sk42W8BSG0jkhz2UV5ioAg).**

### The Lowdown: Fulham chasing Lukic

Tuttosport reported on Saturday that the Premier League club were close to completing the signing of the 26-year-old in a deal worth £8.8m, with Torino willing to let him leave if they complete the signing of Ivan Ilic. (via [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11686815/Fulham-close-completing-8-8m-deal-Torinos-Sasa-Lukic.html))

Multiple sources in Italy claim that the deal was practically done (via [Football Italia](https://football-italia.net/torino-agree-lukic-sale-to-fulham/)), but a more recent update from Romano appears to indicate that it is not as close as some have reported.

### The Latest: Improved bid made

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1619623885896355840?s=20&t=sk42W8BSG0jkhz2UV5ioAg) to offer an update on the situation, Romano has claimed that the Cottagers have submitted an improved £10m bid for the midfielder, with Ilic set to join Torino after the Serie A club hijacked the deal from Marseille.

The journalist added that personal terms still need to be agreed with Lukic, and Fulham are now waiting on the player to decide whether he wants the move.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

The Serbian is versatile, [playing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/245056) in both defensive and attacking central midfield positions throughout his career, so he would be capable of slotting in next to Joao Palhinha at the base of the Fulham midfield and able to challenge Andreas Pereira for a starting berth in an advanced role.

Lauded as ‘[outstanding](https://twitter.com/Buntingfootball/status/1213940613688762370?s=20&t=jIEAFBV2IWJAxTeSbXROTQ)‘ by journalist Josh Bunting, the 26-year-old weighed in with a very respectable [five goals and four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/245056) in Serie A last season, a more than respectable return considering that he was playing in a mid-table team, with Torino finishing [tenth](https://www.footballcritic.com/serie-a/season-2021-2022/8/50924).

Fulham have also [submitted](https://www.90min.com/posts/fulham-launch-bid-fluminense-midfielder-andre) a bid for Fluminense midfielder Andre, but that move is unlikely to transpire. Lukic could be a viable alternative who could have the edge, considering that he has experience of playing in one of [Europe’s top leagues](https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/country/).
