# Glasgow Rangers: Fans rejoice at signing of Kemar Roofe

**A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have enthusiastically welcomed the “incredible” signing of [Kemar Roofe](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/gers-noel-whelan-kemar-roofe-target-ibrox/) from Anderlecht this afternoon.**

The ‘Gers announced via their [official website](https://www.rangers.co.uk/article/rangers-sign-kemar-roofe/3JOQ8m4TAjUgzKBAnMkocR) that they have completed the signing of the 27-year-old on a four-year deal for an undisclosed transfer fee, with the news also shared on their official Twitter channel [@RangersFC](https://twitter.com/RangersFC/status/1290651132600242180).

Roofe hit [seven goals in 16 games in an injury-plagued season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kemar-roofe/leistungsdaten/spieler/141350) for Anderlecht in 2019/20 but has a good track record in British football, having scored [33 times in 122 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kemar-roofe/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141350/verein/399) for Leeds and netted [31 goals in 65 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kemar-roofe/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141350/verein/988) for Oxford.

His arrival provides a timely boost to Steven Gerrard’s centre-forward options at Ibrox, with Jermain Defoe [currently out injured](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/rangers/jermain-defoe-injury-highlights-lack-striking-options-rangers-boss-steven-gerrard-2922133) and [last season’s top scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/leistungsdaten/verein/124) Alfredo Morelos strongly linked with a £17m move to Lille, as per [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-rangers-advanced-talks-to-sell-morelos/).
