# Glasgow Rangers: Fans hammer Charlie Adam over comments on Alfredo Morelos’ valuation

**A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have slammed former Ibrox midfielder Charlie Adam for comments he made regarding transfer speculation involving [Alfredo Morelos](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-transfer-rumours/gers-fans-rage-lille-transfer-offer-morelos/).**

The Reading midfielder told [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02nrsln/episodes/player) \[via [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/charlie-adam-predicts-alfredo-morelos-22440572)\] that the ‘Gers should sell the 24-year-old, who has been [strongly linked with a move to Lille](https://theathletic.com/1952630/2020/07/26/), for between £8m and £12m, despite Ibrox managing director Stewart Robertson hinting that the Light Blues [want roughly £20m for him](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/charlie-adam-predicts-alfredo-morelos-22440572).

However, citing the recession in the global transfer market arising from the global pandemic, Adam feels that the ‘Gers should be willing to accept a considerably lower sum, [saying](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/charlie-adam-predicts-alfredo-morelos-22440572): “I would get rid of him. If the money comes for him, I’d get rid of him now.

“You’re not going to get £15m or £20m, so anything between £8m and £12m you’ve got to take it and move on. I know he’s their best player, but you’ve got to remember the market at the moment.”

According to Jordan Campbell for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1952630/2020/07/26/), the Light Blues have already rejected an offer of £13m plus bonuses from Lille for the Colombian striker, who found the net [29 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdaten/spieler/338962) for Steven Gerrard’s side last season and has hit [77 goals in 137 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962/verein/124) for his current club.

These ‘Gers fans took to Twitter to hit out at Adam over his “baffling” comments about Morelos’ market value amid speculation over a potential move to France:
