**A number of Glasgow Rangers fans are begging for Alfredo Morelos to remain at Ibrox amid transfer speculation surrounding the 24-year-old.**

Journalist Pipe Sierra tweeted (via [@PipeSierraR](https://twitter.com/PipeSierraR/status/1307787662338789379?s=20)) that Lille have submitted a bid in the region of €20m (£18.6m) for the Colombian striker, with the Ligue 1 club having [reportedly agreed terms with the player](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5854505/rangers-alfredo-morelos-lille-transfer-close/) over the summer.

Morelos has scored [82 goals in 145 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962/verein/124) for the ‘Gers, including [29 last season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962), and has begun the 2020/21 campaign with [five goals in seven games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdaten/spieler/338962) despite lingering speculation over his future at the club.

His importance to the Ibrox cause has been amplified by recent injuries to fellow strikers [Jermain Defoe](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jermain-defoe/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/3875/verein/124), who [only just returned](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jermain-defoe/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/3875/verein/124) in Sunday’s draw at Hibernian, [Cedric Itten](https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/18685799.steven-gerrard-provides-injury-update-rangers-striker-cedric-itten/) and Kemar Roofe, who is [set to miss the next few games](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/gers-fans-bemoan-roofe-injury-update/). Greg Stewart, the [other centre-forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/kadernachposition/verein/124) in Steven Gerrard’s squad, has scored only [three times in 28 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/greg-stewart/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/156775/verein/124) for the club.

> I would agree with you but unfortunately Morelos is by far our best striker.Roofe looks good but he’s injury prone and doesn’t look like a 20+ goal a season and the same could be said about Defoe.Itten we don’t know about yet meaning it would be a huge risk selling Morelos.
