# Everton: Fans gush over Giovanni Simeone transfer news

**Loads of Everton fans have been left gushing over some transfer news on Giovanni Simeone.**

As per a report from earlier in the week by [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/gio-simeone-tiene-precio-everton-acecha-20211206.html), which has since been shared by [EFC DAILY](https://twitter.com/EFCdaily_/status/1468638839971491849) on their Twitter page, the Goodison Park faithful are now interested in signing the Cagliari striker, and the Serie A club have set a €10m (£8.5m) asking price for his signature.

The price seems minuscule for a player who is doing so well on loan at Hellas Verona at the moment, as he has scored no fewer than 11 goals and made a further three assists in just 14 games in Italy’s top flight so far this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/giovanni-simeone/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/282388/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=276&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

According to [FBRef.com](https://fbref.com/en/comps/Big5/shooting/players/Big-5-European-Leagues-Stats), he is the most clinical finisher in Europe’s top five leagues this season, scoring +6.7 on goals vs expected goals.

Given Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s [injury problems](https://www.transfermarkt.com/dominic-calvert-lewin/verletzungen/spieler/306024) that he has suffered throughout the campaign, and the fact that both Salomon Rondon and Cenk Tosun are [yet to score this term](https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-everton/leistungsdaten/verein/29), Simeone would offer a great alternative up top for Rafa Benitez.
