# Glasgow Rangers: Pundit slams Ianis Hagi

**Kris Commons has said that Ianis Hagi has to provide more for Glasgow Rangers following his move from Genk earlier this year.**

The Romania international made the permanent switch to Ibrox for [£3m](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5642537/hagi-move-rangers-gheorge-viitorul-600k-windfall/) after scoring [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ianis-hagi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/282076) times in 12 games during a loan spell with the club. However, this season, he is yet to score or provide a single assist, and he has already [come under criticism from Kris Boyd](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/glasgow-rangers-boyd-slams-hagi/).

Now, Commons has added to the growing number of disapproving voices. He wrote in The Daily Mail ([via The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5937848/rangers-hagi-4m-price-tag/)):

*“Rangers simply didn’t create enough clear-cut chances to win the game.* *It begs the question: what exactly is Ianis Hagi bringing to the table just now?*

*“Hagi was hooked on the opening day against Aberdeen after contributing next to nothing and he was taken off again yesterday after an hour.*

*“He has zero goals and zero assists so far this season and has been a peripheral figure in all four of Rangers’ league matches.*

*“They forked out £4m to sign him. In tight games like we saw against Livingston yesterday, he was supposed to be the man who can unlock doors.*

*“But he’s not living up to the fee and the investment that Rangers made in him. Gerrard is entitled to demand more.”*

Commons does make a good point – Hagi is yet to show what all the hype is about, and that must be a worry for Steven Gerrard. We are now four games in, and the boss will have been hoping for more glimpses of the creative talent he brings to the table.

Having said that, it is still early into his career north of the border – there is still time for him to become an important player for the 54-time Scottish champions. However, everyone at the Gers will be hoping he gets going sooner rather than later.
