# Glasgow Rangers: Fans delighted after club share new update on Ibrox

**Glasgow Rangers will have been unhappy when the Scottish Premiership was brought to an abrupt halt, as they stood to lose more than most out of the situation.**

As it transpired, [the SPFL](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52646282) decided that the top four divisions were unable to continue as it was deemed no longer safe to do so due to the ongoing pandemic. The Light Blues’ biggest rivals Celtic were crowned champions as a result, and Hearts were relegated to the Championship.

The decision has triggered a string of unexpected events, such as [James Anderson’s emergency donation](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premier/rangers/gers-fans-rage-james-anderson-3m-donation-spfl/?utm_source=snack-poll) and the ‘Gers accusing the SPFL on the grounds of [corruption](https://talksport.com/football/693592/rangers-spfl-corruption-serious-concerns/), with the club demanding an independent inquiry into the governing body, but [Neil Doncaster](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-doncaster-survived-rangers-spfl-22035456) has stayed defiant as it stands.

While the COVID-19 crisis rages on, fans are becoming aware that they may not be able to return to their favourite stadiums for the foreseeable future.

Indeed, although [the Bundesliga](https://www.espn.com/soccer/german-bundesliga/story/4095678/bundesligas-return-from-coronavirus-lockdown-no-fansplenty-of-injuries-and-awkward-social-distancing) has made a triumphant return, and other domestic leagues like the Premier League and La Liga are gearing up for a resumption in the summer, all games will be played behind closed doors for some time to come.

[Scottish clubs](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11781/11996986/scottish-premiership-clubs-to-return-to-training-on-june-11-with-new-season-set-to-start-on-august-1#:~:text=%22We%20now%20have%20a%20firm,SPFL's%20chief%20executive%20Neil%20Doncaster&text=Scottish%20Premiership%20clubs%20will%20return,the%20weekend%20of%20August%201.) will be able to return to training on Thursday, after Doncaster revealed the board’s intends to start [the 2020/21 Premiership season](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11781/11996986/scottish-premiership-clubs-to-return-to-training-on-june-11-with-new-season-set-to-start-on-august-1#:~:text=%22We%20now%20have%20a%20firm,SPFL's%20chief%20executive%20Neil%20Doncaster&text=Scottish%20Premiership%20clubs%20will%20return,the%20weekend%20of%20August%201.) at the beginning of August.

In the meantime, the ‘Gers, like many other clubs around the world, have tried to fill the void by keeping supporters entertained on social media.

[The club’s official account](https://twitter.com/RangersFC/status/1270747985719308291) shared a new image of Ibrox Stadium on Twitter with the simple caption “Ibrox is Ready.”

Unsurprisingly, many RFC fans drooled over the photo of the famous ground online, with one tweeting the sight is “absolutely gorgeous,” while another added it looks “fantastic.”
