# Glasgow Rangers: Fans want Lawrence Shankland after transfer link

**The future of Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos remains up in the air.**

The Colombia international has been continually linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer, with Lille said to be leading the race for his signature – the 24-year-old has reportedly already [agreed personal terms](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-transfer-rumours/glasgow-rangers-alfredo-morelos-reportedly-agrees-to-join-ligue-1-side-lille/) with Les Dogues, whilst Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed they have already had [a bid rejected](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/glasgow-rangers-morelos-bid-confirmed/).

Should he depart, the Gers could well look to bring in a replacement for him and, [according to Bill Young](https://twitter.com/Acameron79/status/1298658499505926145) of the Talking Football podcast, the 54-time Scottish champions could look to Dundee United’s Lawrence Shankland to come in for him. The [£585,000-valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lawrence-shankland/marktwertverlauf/spieler/225744) 25-year-old (as per Transfermarkt) is a prolific goalscorer – he has [89](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lawrence-shankland/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/225744) goals in his last 107 games.

This link has attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters, and it seems they would be quite happy to have Shankland at the club. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

> He is Scottish and young. The next coming of the Bonny Prince. I like it. [#watp](https://twitter.com/hashtag/watp?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> To be fair we could do a lot worse than this guy. He could turn out to be a belter of a signing, like an old style poacher. What’s the worst that can happen?

> Exactly mate, just look at the lad’s numbers. If we can get him in for a decent amount then him, Itten, Roofe and Defoe would give us genuine strength in depth…

> I believe you Bill. I hope it comes to fruition. We lacked depth in the striker department and are now getting a few in so fingers crossed. McCoist and Boyd came from a similar background with goals in them so would be interesting.
