# Glasgow Rangers: Ian Baraclough urges Jordan Jones to leave Ibrox

**Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has said that he will do all he can to help Glasgow Rangers winger Jordan Jones find a new club.**

The 25-year-old is currently on the books of the Gers, but it does not look like he is a part of the Ibrox outfit’s plans moving forward – he has [not played a single minute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-jones/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/249256) under Steven Gerrard this season, whilst it has been reported that he [has been told](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/jordan-jones-set-rangers-exit-22444903) he can leave the club this summer.

Baraclough named Jones in his latest international squad, but he has suggested that the winger’s situation must be resolved as soon as possible. He [said](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jordan-jones-rangers-transfer-heart-22571315):

*“Jordan is someone I have spoken to several times. I want to help players be settled at their clubs or find new clubs and be there for them to pick up a phone and speak to and if we can help them in any shape or form it is our job to do that.*

*“He is talented but at this moment in time Rangers is a competitive squad and Steven Gerrard has spoken to him and said he can find a new club if that comes up.*

*“Hopefully that can be sorted pretty soon and hopefully he can get settled into a new club, new surroundings and then he can go and perform for us like we think he can.”*

This does seem to be a fair assessment from Baraclough – it is hard to see how Jones will fight his way into Gerrard’s starting XI. A new club would certainly work out well for him – he needs to find somewhere where he will play more than 15 times in a season, which was all he managed in the previous campaign.

Currently valued at [£540,000](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-jones/marktwertverlauf/spieler/249256) by Transfermarkt, the Gers could even make a bit of money off of his sale. Hopefully, everyone involves finds a satisfying outcome.
