# Glasgow Rangers: Alfredo Morelos formally requests Ibrox departure

**As per Colombian journalist [Pipe Sierra](https://twitter.com/PipeSierraR/status/1298235523807555584?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1298235523807555584%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Frangers.vitalfootball.co.uk%2Fmorelos-lille-rangers-transfer-18m%2F), Alfredo Morelos has formally requested to leave Glasgow Rangers following Lille’s latest transfer offer.**

Morelos has been the subject of intense interest from the Ligue 1 outfit, with him even having reportedly [agreed personal terms](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-transfer-rumours/glasgow-rangers-alfredo-morelos-reportedly-agrees-to-join-ligue-1-side-lille/) with Les Dogues. The ‘Gers, however, have already rejected one bid of [£16m](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/glasgow-rangers-morelos-bid-confirmed/) for the Colombia international, as confirmed by Lille president Gerard Lopez.

Sierra has now revealed that another offer has been made for the striker. He revealed on Twitter:

> *CONFIRMED: Colombian forward Alfredo Morelos (24) has formally asked #Rangers to accept the €20M offer made by #Lille. Decisive hours.*

That €20m offer equates to roughly £18m, which would represent some profit for a player that was signed for just [£1.08m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/profil/spieler/338962) in 2017. At this point, though, the saga is starting to become a bit tiresome – no doubt Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson will want this to be resolved as soon as possible.

Whilst he has been a hugely potent presence at Ibrox, with [79 goals in 142 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962/verein/124) for the club, no one player is bigger than that team. If this report is genuine, the 54-time Scottish champions would be mad not to accept the offer.
