# Glasgow Rangers: Charlie Nicholas says ‘Gers should only sell Ryan Kent for £20m+

**Charlie Nicholas has said that Glasgow Rangers should only sell Ryan Kent if they receive a bid of at least £20m.**

The winger has been the subject of intense transfer interest from Leeds United, with the ‘Gers already having turned down a bid of [£10m](https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2020/0821/1160496-rangers-reject-leeds-l10m-bid-for-kent/) for the 23-year-old. There have been reports that the newly-promoted Premier League side will now return with an offer of [£14m](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5960263/rangers-transfer-leeds-united-ryan-kent-14m/), but Nicholas believes that amount is nowhere near enough.

Writing in his Daily Express column ([via Glasgow Times](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18673895.rangers-not-even-consider-ryan-kent-offers-20million-says-ex-celt-nicholas/)), he said:

> *“Rangers shouldn’t even consider selling Ryan Kent for anything less than £20million. Leeds United are desperate to sign him and you can understand why. He is young and he has talent.*

> *“Some big figures have been mentioned, including last week’s failed £10m bid, but even if Leeds come back in with £14m, I don’t see any value in that for Rangers – they would be short-changing themselves. It is such a big season for the Ibrox club as they try to stop Celtic getting 10-in-a-row. Steven Gerrard’s team are going for title number one – but what a big one it would be.*

> *“So I just can’t see Rangers selling someone they paid £7m for unless they’re made an offer they can’t refuse. And, for me, that has to be £20m-plus.”*

The ‘Gers spent [£7m](https://news.stv.tv/sport/1440449-rangers-sign-liverpool-s-ryan-kent-on-four-year-deal?top#:~:text=Rangers%20have%20completed%20the%20signing,Steven%20Gerrard's%20side%20last%20season.) on his signature just last year and he has started this campaign fantastically, with [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdaten/spieler/279457) goals in his first five matches. With him having [started every league match](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdaten/spieler/279457) so far this term, he is clearly a huge part of Gerrard’s plans moving forward.

As such, it will take something quite significant to convince the ‘Gers to part ways, but a £20m offer might just do it.
