# Glasgow Rangers: Mixu Paatelainen says Glen Kamara could make big move next summer

**Former Finland boss Mixu Paatelainen has said that Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara could make a big money move next summer if he does well at the European Championship with Finland.**

The 24-year-old ‘Gers man helped his country qualify for their [first major tournament](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50440458) and impressed once again against the Republic of Ireland at the weekend, as many the Ibrox outfit’s supporters were [quick to praise](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/glasgow-rangers-fans-laud-kamara/) his display. The Euros offer a platform for players to put themselves in the shop window and Kamara has the chance to do just that.

Speaking to [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/6014486/rangers-kamara-duffy-dublin-anything-finland-paatelainen/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1599480102), Paatelainen said that a big move could be on the cards for Kamara. He explained:

> *“Obviously with him being a very technical player who was at Arsenal at the time he got a very good grounding.*

> *“He was still quite young and developing then but now he is one of the main men in midfield and does a very good job for Finland.*
>
> *“In particular he is a tremendous passer of a ball and his technique his superb.*
>
> *“He is always looking to get on the ball and play as a low playmaker if you like.*
>
> *“It is difficult to put figures on anybody’s forehead.*
>
> *“But players like that are highly valued so I wouldn’t be surprised if ANYTHING happened for him if he does well at the Euros.”*

Currently valued at £1.08m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glen-kamara/marktwertverlauf/spieler/242632), Kamara has featured in [all but one](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glen-kamara/leistungsdaten/spieler/242632) game for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this term and has even reportedly been the subject of interest from Marseille, with [France Football](https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Mercato-glen-kamara-glasgow-rangers-plait-a-l-om/1132857) saying he could cost as much as £9m. If he performs well next summer, he could depart for an even greater sum

Prior to that tournament, he has a big role to play in helping the ‘Gers to try and win their [first major trophy since 2011](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rangers-fc/erfolge/verein/124). If he can aid that cause, the ‘Gers will likely be more willing to let him depart if a big opportunity arises.
