# Glasgow Rangers: Gers turned down deal for Morelos

**Glasgow Rangers reportedly turned down a loan offer for Alfredo Morelos at the weekend, [according to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell](https://theathletic.com/2109937/2020/10/05/transfer-news-live-deadline-day-tracker/).**

Morelos has been linked with a move away from Ibrox throughout the window, with him even reportedly [agreeing personal terms](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-transfer-rumours/glasgow-rangers-alfredo-morelos-reportedly-agrees-to-join-ligue-1-side-lille/) with Lille.

He remains a Gers player though, even despite there being an offer from Serie A for his services at the weekend. According to Campbell, the bid was initially a €2m (£1.8m) loan with an option to buy, but that was reportedly less than the £14m Lille previously offered.

Morelos is somehow still at Ibrox despite the intense speculation surrounding his future. The Gers reportedly wanted [£20m](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/steven-gerrard-alfredo-morelos-warning-rangers-lille) for the 24-year-old, which makes this offer from an unnamed Italian club rather insulting. Despite the disruption, Morelos has scored [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962) goals in 10 matches this season – he clearly still has a role to play at the club. Letting him go on loan would be absolutely criminal from Ross Wilson and co – they had little choice but to turn down this offer.
