**While the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are no doubt disappointed at the outcome, they have given a wry smile at the mere notion of this latest report.**

According to notable Italian journalist [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/ibras-world-priority-for-mourinho-tottenhams-attempt-and-the-connection-with-milan-about-all-those-offers/), the North London outfit made an audacious bid for superstar Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 34-year old is the hottest property on the market this summer as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain begins to wind down.

Manchester United are [thought](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/25/zlatan-ibrahimovic-manchester-united-jose-mourinho) to be favourites to land the former Barcelona superstar, though moves to [Italy](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7136516/Paris-Saint-Germain-superstar-Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-could-return-to-AC-Milan.html) and the [MLS](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/blog/transfer-talk/79/post/2871710/zlatan-ibrahimovic-90-percent-certain-to-opt-for-la-galaxy-over-man-united) have also been mooted.

However, the report [claims](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/ibras-world-priority-for-mourinho-tottenhams-attempt-and-the-connection-with-milan-about-all-those-offers/) that had been an offer emanating out of White Hart Lane in a move that would have split the Premier League into two, though it was not quite enough to convince the player.

With Champions League football on the way, as well as a seismic stadium move, Spurs are understood to be pressing ahead in attempts to significantly improve their dynamic young squad.

**Will we see Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Premier League next season?**
