# ‘Good deal’, ‘Good addition’ – Arsenal fans are excited at the prospect of PL star moving to the club

**The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a swift return to the Champions League.**

Following a disappointing league campaign in which the Gunners failed to secure Champions League football for the very first time under Arsene Wenger’s cultivated guidance, Arsenal supporters are expecting a swift return to normality – otherwise known as qualification for the Champions League.

Efforts to improve the squad have long started with the noticeable arrival of Sead Kolašinac. However, there is greater cause for excitement from Arsenal’s perspective as Riyad Mahrez is tipped to become a summer signing.

[Spanish outlet Sport](https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/riyad-mahrez-tired-of-waiting-for-barcelona-will-join-arsenal-6128938) report that the Leicester winger has grown discontent with Barcelona’s lack of activity and is willing to join the FA Cup Winners in North London. [Sport report](https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/riyad-mahrez-tired-of-waiting-for-barcelona-will-join-arsenal-6128938) that the fee would be in the region of €40M (around £35M), and while the Algerian wasn’t as influential last season as the 15/16 campaign, his talent is evident for all to admire.

Our landlord believes that this would be a significant coup for Arsenal, considering the [potential](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-launch-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-10692809) departure of Oxlade-Chamberlain and the need for greater creativity. The 26-year-old was an instrumental figure in Leicester’s title run and could provide Arsenal’s attack with another source of creativity, relieving the pressure that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have on their shoulders.

The Arsenal fans on Twitter seem to be in agreement, having taken to the site to reveal their delight at the news…
